AMARU COMMUNITY –POTATO PARK-TEXTILE ANDEAN

Amaru is a native community, located in the Incas´ Sacred Valley´s highlands.
They receive the visitors with music and beautiful flowers beside a symbolic offering to mother earth or pachamama to thank you for this new day and sharing between siblings of different cultures.

TOUR DESCRIPTION

We will pick the clients up from your hotel and drive in the way to the Sacred valley. Amaru community that is 40 minutes far from Pisaq.
The visitors gather flowers and leaves that serve as supplies to make natural dyes.

They also teach us the medicinal and culinary properties of some of these plants. Then, the proud lady weavers show us the entire hand-weaving process, shearing and hand-spinning the wool, dyeing the fibers and creating designs with warp and wefts. After that you participate in agricultural activities; the commoners show us the hundreds of potato varieties, which come in all colors and shapes, resulting in thousands of flavors to enjoy.

During our stay in the community, the commoners provide us with nutritious meals, prepared with local ingredients. Finally will back to the hotel.
