ITINERARY

DAY 01: Flight to Cusco / Awanacancha / Pisaq market & Ruins

Check in assistance at Lima^s airport for you fly to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, your personal guide and private driver will greet you at the airport to head straight to the Urubamba Valley – also known as the ‘Sacred Valley’. We will make a quick stop along the way at Awanacancha, where you will have the opportunity to see the different camelids that live in the Andes such as llamas, alpacas, vicuñas and guanacos. In Pisac experience the sights and sounds of the town’s famous market, with its variety of handcrafts and fresh produce. Continue on to the Pisac ruins. With Inca masonry of superlative quality, the stunning terracing following the contours of the mountain. After lunch check into your hotel. (L.)

DAY 02: Maras & Moray/ Ollantaytambo town & Fortress / Machupicchu pueblo

Today you’ll visit Maras, the site of the remarkable and unusual Salinas, located in the heart of the Sacred Valley. This site consists of a huge number of watered terraces that collect salt by evaporation from the saline waters that gush from an underground stream. Built in a similar way to agricultural terraces seen throughout the Andes, the Salinas have been in use since pre-Columbian times. Visually, the shining, salt-encrusted terraces are extraordinary. Nearby Maras the most enigmatic Inca terraces at the site of Moray, a very unique arqueological site in the region, probably used for agricultural experimentation, consists of several enormous terraced circular depressions. In these natural formations, nature has created environmental conditions or microclimates that in modern time people need create in greenhouses or hothouses to get the same results.On the road, we will stop to enjoy our box lunch with a nice view.
In the afternoon, you visit the fabulous town of Ollantaytambo and its archaeological sites. The town is unique in that it still preserves its original Inca plan with people living in traditional canchas enclosures once occupied by the Inca elite. We will also visit the Inca ruins situated on a hilltop landscape with surrounding terracing and cyclopean rock carvings.
We will head to the train station in Ollantaytambo for your two-hour train, where will see the drastic changes from mountain vegetation to cloud forest, until arrival at the station of Machu Picchu pueblo. Overnight in a hotel in the village. (B. BL. D.)

DAY 03: Machu Picchu / Ollantaytambo / Cusco

An early you will board a bus to reach the entrance of Machu Picchu. “ magnificence” is the only word to describe the scene and Machupicchu ruins, the “ lost city of the incas. Believed to be an Inca settlement built to control the economies of neighboring communities, it is associated with being the royal state of Pachacuti, the great Inca who sparked the expansion of the empire.where you will have your official guide ( 2- 3 Hour ) walks you through the different sectors of the hill-top citadel, with astonishing views, telling you aspects of life here that will take you back in time. Lunch is included in Machu Picchu Village. Afternoon you will board the train( approx. 1.5hrs) back to Ollantaytambo station, where a private vehicle will be waiting to transfer you by road to Cusco(approx.2 hrs)to check in to your hotel. DAY 04: Cusco city tour and nearby ruins

Morning free. In the afternoon will go by car to Saqsayhuaman, a vast fortress built on three platforms, overlooking the city of Cusco. From here we continue to Kenko, a site or worship with a high rock carved into the shape of a Puma, which dominates a series of canals, passageways painted with animals. The road continues uphill to reach Puka-Pucara and Tambomachay, a site with Inca baths. Return to Cusco, and visit the main sites around the Plaza de Armas – the Cathedral, the Inca walls with its 12 angled stone and the Sun Temple of Koricancha inside the Santo Domingo Church. At the end, we can leave you in the restaurant or in your hotel. (B.)

DAY 05: Cusco / Lima / Out

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima – or any other connecting destination. (B.)
